Colorado Youth Advisory Council asks for $50,000 in 2027 budget; request unchanged since 2023

Natalie Castle, speaking for Legislative Council staff, presented the Colorado Youth Advisory Council’s budget request of $50,000 for FY2027 and recognized Sarah Moss, the council’s executive director, who was in the audience.
Castle said the $50,000 request matches the appropriation level the council has received since FY2023. She described the Youth Advisory Council’s composition (40 members ages 14–19, representation from 35 senate districts plus tribal and at-large members) and its role advising legislators and developing youth-focused policy recommendations. The committee was told this item is scheduled as a decision item for the committee on February 24.
The committee did not take action at this briefing and will consider the request at the upcoming decision meeting.
