Mayor announces fall leaf collection, hiring, and trick-or-treat events in Murrysville

The municipality is hiring a full-time skilled laborer in public works; application information is on the municipal website.
Mayor Simon also said vendor registration for "Trick-or-Treat on the Trail" closes tomorrow; the event has moved to Murrysville Community Park and will run Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. He reminded residents that Halloween trick-or-treat hours on Oct. 31 are 6–8 p.m. and that police, fire and EMS will have enhanced patrols. Finally, he said the volunteer fire department will conduct a live-structure burn drill on Hills Church Road on Oct. 25 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and that that portion of Hills Church Road will be closed for public safety.
The mayor asked residents to use alternate routes and exercise caution in the drill area and at event sites. No council action was required on these announcements.
