Brighton Central School District accepts annual financial statements, auditor gives unqualified opinion

The Brighton Central School District Board of Education voted to accept the district's annual financial statements and management letter for the period ending June 30, 2025, after a review by the audit committee.

Chair Davis said the district received an unqualified opinion from the auditor and praised the finance staff for their work. "We have an exceptional financial team," the chair said, naming Lou Alaimo and Dalia Watts for their roles in preparing the statements. Board members said they had reviewed the documents in audit committee earlier in the evening.

The acceptance was moved by Clayton and seconded by Esther; the board approved the motion by voice vote (Aye). The board noted the audit committee will provide an update in a future report to the full board and flagged that the public audit documents are available for review.
