The Brighton Central School District Board of Education approved four tenure appointments on Nov. 18, 2025.
The board presented administrative tenure recommendations from Superintendent McGowan for Doctor Mike Malloy (director of student operations) and Jeff Green (director of student and family engagement). The recommendations included written endorsements from building leaders and district administrators describing their leadership and contributions. The board moved to approve the administrator tenure recommendations, the motion was seconded, and the board approved them by voice vote.
The board also approved 10‑year tenure appointments for two school counselors: Mary Crowley (Brighton High School) and Catherine 'Katie' Huey (French Road Elementary), with supporting remarks from principals and assistant superintendents noting their student advocacy, counseling work and program contributions. Motions to approve the teacher tenure appointments were moved and seconded and carried by voice vote.
Board members offered brief recognition for each appointee and applause followed the approvals. The board noted formal tenure recognition will be part of the district’s June ceremony in the usual cycle.
