Oklahoma Senate convenes for brief ceremonial session, schedules committees and adjourns

Senator Reinhart introduced Amanda Fisher as the nurse of the day, reciting her nursing credentials (LPN 1997; RN 2023; BSN 2024; maternal newborn nursing certification) and noting that she works in labor and delivery at Bailey Medical Center in Owasso, Oklahoma. Senator Thompson said the Economic Development, Workforce and Tourism committee will meet immediately following adjournment. Senator Dossett invited members to the first meeting of the Disability Caucus tomorrow at 9:00 a.m., which will address public safety for individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities. Senator Howard requested attendance for a Judiciary committee meeting scheduled to follow competing committees. Senator Hicks announced a birthday recognition for "Senator Bridal Stanley" as recorded in the transcript.
Before adjournment, the presiding leader moved that, when the clerk's desk is clear, the Senate stand adjourned until Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. The motion was adopted by voice vote and the presiding officer declared the Senate adjourned.
