City staff briefed the commission on due diligence with Woodmont Lodging and asked for permission to enter executive session to discuss real estate matters.
The commission voted to go into executive session to discuss options to lease. The roll-call vote recorded one dissenting vote; the commission later announced it had met in executive session to discuss the real estate matters and that no action was taken before adjourning the meeting.
Miss Gaskins and other staff framed the Woodmont update as part of ongoing negotiations and said the matter required private discussion under the real-estate exception to open-meeting rules. With no final action in open session, the city did not adopt resolutions related to Woodmont Lodging during the public meeting.
