Shenandoah’s City Council on Feb. 26 approved change order number 2 for the wastewater treatment plant expansion project to replace a slide gate staff determined was inoperable after the channels were drained.
Staff told council the gate was highly corroded and, after evaluating repair options, the engineer recommended a complete replacement. The total cost of the change order is $24,086; staff advised the change order will add about 0.31% to the original contract price.
Council moved and seconded the change order and approved it by voice vote. Staff will carry out the replacement work as part of the ongoing expansion project schedule.
