Staff said auction or trade-in proceeds from existing vehicles would be returned to the water and sewer utility funds.
Separately, the committee recommended authorization to purchase a replacement street-department truck (fleet number 59) with a purchase limit not to exceed $40,000 to replace a 25-year-old Silverado; staff estimated a typical replacement price for a slightly used model would be about $35,000 and that the truck could remain in service for another 20 years.
What happens next: staff will pursue purchases under the authorization thresholds and report back on actual purchase prices, trade-in proceeds and accounting allocations.
