The Henrico County School Board opened its Jan. 22 meeting by approving the agenda on a motion from Mrs. Shea and a second from Mr. Young; the chair recorded the voice vote and declared the ayes have it. Later the board approved the consent agenda (items 8.01 through 8.1) on a motion from Mrs. Kinsella, seconded by Mrs. Atkins, again by voice vote.
During new business Mrs. Shea acknowledged that Holly Coy, the board’s chief of staff, will depart the position tomorrow. Coy addressed the board and thanked colleagues, saying it "has been an honor and a pleasure to serve" and that she will miss the team. The board announced a work session on Feb. 12, 2026, at 3 p.m., followed by a budget public hearing at 5 p.m., and adjourned the meeting.
Both the agenda and consent approvals were recorded as voice votes with no roll-call tallies provided in the public transcript; votes were recorded in the meeting as “Aye” and the chair declared the ayes have it.
