The Vigo County Council voted unanimously to approve an ordinance authorizing the Vigo County Treasurer to invest public funds and also approved a set of funding requests for parks, health and social-service programs.
During the meeting the council read Ordinance 2026-1 (an ordinance authorizing and approving the investment of public funds by the Vigo County Treasurer). The motion to approve, moved by Councilman Randy Gentry and seconded by Councilwoman Brenda Wilson, passed on roll call 7–0.
Following that vote, the council approved several additional appropriations by recorded votes: funding to support the Griffin Pike Park building and Bikes program (item noted as 20 26 dash 1), the Crossroads Care Clinic funding request (20 26 dash 2), a New Life Fellowship Compassion Ministries food pantry request (20 26 dash 3), and Thrive West Central (20 26 dash 4). Each of these motions recorded unanimous council approval, 7–0.
Council procedural remarks emphasized that these approvals were part of the council’s current appropriations and that certain larger salary ordinance items would be handled later by the budget committee.
These votes clear those specific projects for immediate funding; further appropriations and larger personnel decisions were deferred or tabled for additional review by the budget committee.
