Harold said the prosecutor’s office benefited from a statewide negotiation led by the Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys Council that secured a discounted rate for counties that sign on. "This year it was paid for, in full by the prosecutor's office from their funds," she said, adding that the arrangement might not be sustainable without a future contribution from the county general fund.
Council accepted three ordinances (2026‑5, 2026‑6 and 2026‑7) totaling $21,702 — $10,000 from the pretrial diversion fund, $1,702 from the prosecutor infraction deferral fund, and $10,000 from law‑enforcement forfeiture — and voted unanimously to appropriate the sums for the subscription and related services.
Council members asked staff to track whether future Axon costs would become an ongoing general‑fund obligation and to ensure any recurring contract obligations are flagged during next year’s budget process.
