Neighborhood Improvement Program introduces coordinator Jesus Murillo to committee

Anderson Stout introduced Jesus Murillo as the new Neighborhood Improvement Program coordinator during the Community Development Committee meeting on Oct. 21. Stout summarized Murillo’s academic and professional background and said Murillo has already begun work to strengthen the program’s capacity.

Stout said Murillo holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Fisk University and a master’s in theological studies from Harvard University, and noted Murillo’s recent work as a grants coordinator for a congressional delegation office and prior roles at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the U.S. Department of Agriculture in partnership and engagement roles.

Murillo introduced himself to the committee and thanked council offices for coordinating the scheduling of quarter-two meetings so the Neighborhood Improvement Program can provide status updates. "My name is Jesus Murillo. It is a pleasure to be here with you all today," he said, adding that he looks forward to working with council members to move the program "swiftly and expeditiously to serve the citizens of Fort Worth."

Murillo said he intends to meet with council offices and stakeholders to provide NIP updates and support neighborhood services work. The introduction was presented as informational; no formal action or vote on staffing was recorded during this meeting.
