Auburn highlights new Elevation platform and English 3D curriculum for English learners

Mister Keller, the district’s Teaching and Learning representative, told the School Committee that Auburn Public Schools has implemented the Elevation platform to manage English learner (EL) data, compliance tasks and professional development modules.
"Elevation is both, it's a platform that allows for collecting data on students and also gives us information that is tailored to individual students," Keller said, describing the software’s ability to track EL status, former EL monitoring and assessment scores.
Keller also said the district piloted two textbooks and selected English 3D for K–12 instruction, noting the program aligns with state guidance for high‑quality instructional materials and WIDA standards. "The feedback from the tutors and the teachers has been overwhelmingly positive," he said, adding that English 3D’s "3D component—discussing, describing, and debating—" is built into curriculum practice.
Keller said the platform helps the district centralize records previously stored in spreadsheets and supports required reporting to families. He noted the program includes professional development modules tied to student data, allowing staff to tailor instruction and monitor progress, including for former EL students who require long‑term monitoring.
Committee members asked few questions and praised the implementation effort. Keller said teachers attended relevant conferences and that the district will continue monitoring results as the program rolls out.
