Commission approves three TIF boundary amendments after brief public hearing

The Greenwood Redevelopment Commission on Feb. 1 held public hearings and unanimously approved three tax-increment financing (TIF) boundary amendment resolutions, including establishment of a North State Road 135 area.
Staff described the three related actions as boundary cleanups and an expansion that adds the North State Road 135 allocation area. Notices and tax-impact statements were provided to overlapping fiscal bodies, and staff said the public hearing was a near-final review step before creation.
One member of the public, Kevin Grease of Live Life, asked whether nonprofit properties would be affected by the changes; staff answered that nonprofits would not be taxed differently as a result. With no further public comment, the commission voted on each resolution in turn; roll-call votes were recorded and each measure passed unanimously.
The resolutions address small boundary adjustments in Morrisville Road and Orland Farms and create the new North State Road 135 allocation area; staff said the changes are intended to clarify boundaries and enable redevelopment planning in the specified areas.
