Weld County honors scores of employees at annual service awards ceremony

Commissioners spent the early portion of the Dec. 15 meeting recognizing long‑tenured Weld County employees across multiple departments, including the Assessor’s Office, Clerk & Recorder, Sheriff’s Office, IT, Public Works, Human Services and others.
Assessor Brenda Downs introduced three honorees from her office and praised staff contributions, saying county employees are “the heart” of county operations. The Clerk & Recorder’s office recognized retirees and long‑serving staff who support motor‑vehicle and records operations. The sheriff’s office brought up roughly 25 employees to receive tenure pins and praised their years of service and community engagement.
Department directors and commissioners highlighted examples of work—reappraisals in the Assessor’s Office, database and cybersecurity work in IT, building inspections and public‑works operations—and noted particular honorees by name and role. The ceremony included short remarks, pin presentations and group photos; the board then recessed briefly before returning to regular business.
