Weld County approves public‑health grant, contract amendment and awards soils‑lab bid

Purchasing recommended awarding bid B2500138 for the Public Works soils‑lab relocation and renovation to Swift Builders LLC as the low, responsive bidder; the board approved the bid award in the amount of $369,137.
In public health business, Jason Cheshire (Public Health) told the board the county had been awarded a grant of $100,000 to continue employing community health workers who support outreach and the mobile health unit. "The purpose of this grant is to continue to provide or to employ community health workers," he said, and recommended that the chair be authorized to sign the task‑order contract modification (contract ID 10162). The board approved the grant authorization.
Cheshire also presented amendment 2 to contract ID 10163, reporting that the award was reduced by $125,806 and the amended contract total will be $755,610. Staff said variable funding through the grant over recent years made such adjustments necessary; the board approved the contract amendment.
