Road committee approves culvert work, Stanley Road cooperation and $750,000 for Nash Road reconstruction

The DeSoto Parish Road Committee authorized several infrastructure items at its meeting. The committee approved a corporate-of-endeavor agreement with the Town of Stonewall to replace culverts on Dalton Road; property owners will pay for the culverts. The committee also authorized the president to sign an agreement with Thomas (Town of) Stonewall for work on Stanley Road that the town will pay and complete at no cost to the jury.
Separately, the committee approved allocating $750,000 for the Nash Road reconstruction project (approximately one mile along WoodSpring Road West). Committee members said existing road and bridge-material funds had been used and the $750,000 allocation will allow the treasurer to move capital road funds so the project can be bid in compliance with public-bid requirements. Members discussed that the scope puts the work over the bidding threshold and therefore the project must be formally bid.
All three items were moved, seconded and the motions were recorded as passing in committee.
