CHA reviewed procurement results, said the contractor would be Lobar Associates (procured similarly to a prior Steckel project), and noted environmental abatement would be performed by Sargent. Sanders said CHA will meet with library leadership to "descope" elements so the project fits the library’s funding and return to the district with a resolution for approval at the end of the month if the library accepts the final numbers. He cautioned that costs could slightly exceed the library’s $300,000 estimate.
Board members asked about a different grant and potential pedestrian improvements such as a crosswalk under ADA considerations; CHA said they will propose project ideas for that grant and return with a resolution. The operations committee did not take a formal vote at the meeting; the item was marked to return for approval pending the library’s acceptance of the descope and final budget.
