The Wausau Common Council voted unanimously on Feb. 10 to approve a finance committee resolution authorizing the sixth amendment to the Advanced Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine on-site health services agreement.
The amendment was described during council business as part of a five-year contract with an approximately 3% increase in fees over the term. Alder Watson, who spoke during the discussion, said the 3% increase had been anticipated in the contract’s terms and framed the agreement as an important health service for firefighters.
"I sort of like the fact that the 3% increase in the fees for a 5 year contract was sort of baked in," Watson said. "I think we'll probably went out on inflation over those 5 years, but this is a great service to keep our our firefighters healthy and on duty."
No amendments or opposing comments were recorded and the council approved the measure 10 to 0.
