At its Jan. 5 organizational meeting, the Weld County Board of Commissioners approved a package of routine administrative resolutions and appointments, including committee assignments, posting locations for public notices, and appointments to advisory and regional boards.
Key approvals included the board's 2026 meeting schedule and a resolution authorizing publication of proceedings for the year. The board also designated specific public places for posting notices, including tax lien sale and property deed notices.
Commissioners approved numerous appointments: Commissioner Perry Buck to the Emergency Food and Shelter Program Board and the Human Services Advisory Commission; Commissioner Scott James to unspecified advisory boards; Commissioner Jason Maxey to a set of regional bodies including the Greeley‑Weld County Airport Authority; Commissioner Lynette Peppler to boards including the 911 Emergency Telephone Service Authority Board and Island Grove Park Advisory Board; and Commissioner Kevin Ross to the Greeley‑Weld County Airport Authority and the Upstate Colorado Economic Development Board. The board also approved appointments to the Weld County Regional Opioid Council and a recommendation to the Frederick Urban Renewal Authority.
The board approved an amendment (contract ID 10204) to extend a subrecipient agreement for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds so the Erie Home Rehabilitation Program (Tala Beery) can complete the project by the end of the grant year. Staff noted the Town of Erie experienced staff turnover that delayed the project and requested the extension; the motion to extend passed unanimously.
Roll-call votes were recorded for the consent agenda and general warrants: both items passed with four 'yes' votes and Commissioner Ross abstaining. Otherwise routine items carried on voice votes.
