Jamie Ulrich of the Department of Human Services described a partnership with a local respite provider identified in the meeting materials as "We Help and Love Everyone, doing business as Whale Inc." The funding would support extended-hour, disability-inclusive respite care targeted to low- and moderate-income families in Weld County.
Commissioner Lynette Peppler moved approval of the resolution; the motion was seconded and passed by voice vote. Peppler thanked county staff and the county attorney for working through questions and said the expansion fills a much-needed community service gap.
What happens next: approval in the meeting authorized the county to submit the CDBG application. Any award of funds would be subject to the grant program's selection and contracting processes.
