Weld County commissioners on Nov. 3 approved several operational items on the consent and new-business portions of the agenda, including a grant amendment, a low-bid award and a road-closure request.
Facilities Director Patrick O'Neil presented Contract ID 10032, an amendment associated with an Energy and Mineral Impact Assistance Fund (EIAF) award for construction of the Kingsburg Greater Shed at 31164 County Road 6. "The grant award is for 200,000," O'Neil said, and he told the board the funding source was changed from mineral lease proceeds to severance-tax proceeds. The board approved the contract and authorized the chair to sign.
Public Works presented bid B2500128 for department parts and equipment and recommended award to Wagner Equipment as the low bidder; staff said the recommendation was to award Wagner Equipment the contract in the amount of $218,463.08, and the board approved.
Public Works also requested a temporary closure of County Road 5 between County Road 28 and State Highway 66 to allow Gopher Excavation and the Longs Peak Water District to install a new 12-inch water main. Projected closure dates are Nov. 10, 2025 through Feb. 19, 2026; staff said notices were sent to residents and that a school bus route accommodation was arranged. The board approved the closure on a motion by Commissioner Ross.
All three items passed on motions and voice votes with commissioners present.
