He advised the purchase would be made through Sourcewell cooperative purchasing contract 020124-SEW under C Western Inc. for a total of $120,942 and that the acquisition is part of a 2025 Special Environmental Project Grant from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE).
Commissioner Peppler moved to approve the resolution authorizing the purchase; Commissioner James seconded the motion and the board approved it by voice vote.
Funding and procurement notes: meeting discussion identified the federal/state cooperative contract mechanism (Sourcewell) and cited Weld County Code 5-4-80 as allowing purchases from state/federal cooperative contracts without separate procurement. The Purchasing Department framed the vendor selection as compliant with that provision.
