"Now, therefore, I, Mitch Ingram, Monroe County mayor, do hereby proclaim April 2024 Carter Williamson Recognition Day," Ingram said as he presented the proclamation and invited 4‑H agent Greg Austin and Williamson’s parents to join the podium. Family members and commissioners gathered for a photograph after brief remarks celebrating Williamson’s achievement.
The recognition took place near the start of the commission meeting and did not include formal budget or policy actions. Williamson and county staff posed for a group photo on the commission dais following the proclamation; no vote was taken on the recognition itself.
