Williamsburg County supervisor announces recycling-hour changes, town-hall schedule and local company investment

He also listed town-hall meeting dates and locations by council district and encouraged residents to attend and present questions or suggestions: District 1 (Councilman Joe Lee) — date to be determined; District 2 (Councilman Torrance Wilson) — March 21, 2024 at Greater Saint Mark AME Church, 1297 Old Georgetown Road, Hemingway; District 3 (Councilman Jonathan Miller) — April 18, 2024 at Sutton's Community Center; District 4 (Councilman Eddie Woods) — April 9, 2024 at the Kennedy Center, Greeleyville; District 5 (Councilman Paul McKnight) — April 2, 2024 at the Williamsburg County Recreation Department, 2084 Thurgood Marshall Highway; District 6 (Councilman Sam Floyd) — date to be determined; District 7 (Councilwoman Jackie Hales) — March 26, 2024 at South Lynch's Fire Station (Lake City address).
The supervisor also announced what the transcript describes as an expansion by a company named variably as "Grama America" and "Agri America," with an estimated local investment of $7,800,000. "This demonstrates the company's confidence in the area and its commitment to contributing to the local community and to the local economy," the supervisor said. The transcript spells the company name inconsistently; no company representative spoke during the meeting.
The supervisor closed his report by reminding the public that the solar ordinance would be posted on the county's Facebook page and website for review.
