An unidentified commissioner nominated Ellis for president, saying, "I nominate William to serve as president." Roll-call votes recorded "Yes" responses and the motion was declared to pass. An unidentified speaker later noted, "Motion passes," after the vice president and secretary nominations also passed by roll call.
The clerk/treasurer presented the financial report and a proposed 2026 budget amendment. The report showed the initial 2025 appropriation at $50,000, with $43,405.73 expended to date. The presenter said, "$1,050 was for the redevelopment commission, annual salary, Social Security unemployment tax, and then the miscellaneous professional expenses" and stated the amended 2026 budget is $27,496, which reflects a $100 per meeting stipend and associated payroll taxes. The presenter added that $6,594.27 reverted to the general fund. Commissioners voted to approve the year-to-date financial report.
On the TIF management plan, staff said the commission only needed to acknowledge receipt before forwarding the document to the town council. A motion to acknowledge receipt was made and approved; the minutes will note the acknowledgment and the council will consider reappointments later.
Members also discussed a remaining vacancy on the commission. One member reported limited interest from potential candidates and said they would provide names in the coming weeks; commissioners agreed to advertise the vacancy on Facebook to solicit applicants.
No substantive public comments were taken. The chair adjourned the meeting after roughly 12 minutes.
The commission's actions at this meeting — officer elections, approval of the financial report and acknowledgment of the TIF plan — will be reflected in the minutes and any items requiring further action were referred to the town council.
