The Village of Weston Plan Commission on Jan. 12 approved a site plan for an accessory 7x7 structure installed without a permit at 5107 Aspen Street, contingent on the owner relocating the shed to an approved location by May 15, weather permitting.
Staff said the shed, installed this past fall, sits between the principal building and the right‑of‑way in violation of front setback rules and therefore requires planning commission approval under site‑plan provisions. The applicant’s site manager, Sam Caballo, told the commission the owner was willing to move the shed to an approved location but requested time when snow and ice had cleared.
Commissioner Gert moved to approve the shed’s retention provided the owner relocates it to one of the approved locations Roman identified; commissioners amended the motion to set a deadline of May 15 for the move, weather permitting. "I'll amend my motion to include the deadline of May 15, weather permitting," Gert said during deliberations. The amendment and the main motion carried.
Staff said once the final location is chosen the owner must demonstrate anchorage/wind‑load compliance and obtain required permits; the commission left timing and inspection requirements to staff, with an explicit relocation deadline.
