Council postpones bathroom contract review and sends related items to executive session

"The bathroom was $331,000 and so that was more than what staff had anticipated," Laura said, and staff recommended postponing the item while seeking alternative solutions.
A council member moved to postpone consideration of the item until alternatives were found; another member said they preferred first to ask legal questions in executive session. Council subsequently voted to pull items 12, 13 and 16 into executive session under Texas Government Code §551.071 for consultation with the city attorney and for deliberation of real property. The council cleared the room for executive session and noted there could be action after legal consultation.
No final contract action was taken in open session on July 2; staff may return with revised contract terms after executive session or after identifying alternative options.
