The Weston Plan Commission on Aug. 12 approved a conditional use permit allowing an accessory building of 1,500 square feet at 3805 Eau Claire Avenue, exceeding the single-family large-lot (SFL) district limit of 1,000 square feet. Staff told the commission the proposed structure would match the principal house with steel siding, stone accents at the base and a matching roofline, and said the project preserves the principal structure as the lot’s focal point.
Staff recommended approval on the grounds that the building meets dimensional and height standards for the district and that the scale and configuration are compatible with the site. Applicant Mike Greenheck was present and offered no additional remarks. Commissioners completed the required conditional-use questionnaire, finding the proposal consistent with the comprehensive plan and not likely to cause undue adverse impacts to neighbors or public services.
Commissioner Deason moved to approve; Commissioner Gernt seconded. The commission carried the motion by voice vote. The commission recorded the approval as a conditional-use decision; no additional conditions beyond standard permit requirements were announced at the meeting. The applicant will proceed with any necessary building permits and inspections under applicable state and local building codes.
