The Fairport Central School District’s board paused its business meeting for an extended recognition of the district’s student musicians.
Superintendent Provenzano introduced Patricia McGrath (district administrator for music) and Kirsten Rodin (lead music teacher). They explained that students earned honors through auditioned solo festivals, teacher recommendations and competitive selection processes spanning county and state programs. A series of students described the requirements for All‑County, Area All‑State and Conference All‑State ensembles and where rehearsals and concerts take place.
Patricia McGrath told the board, “We have 90 honorees tonight,” and thanked music teachers and families for the time and commitment required to reach these honors. Trustees and administrators praised the program’s contribution to district culture and invited students, teachers and families to remain for the remainder of the meeting.
The recognition is ceremonial; no board action was taken.
