A separate public commenter, identifying himself as a retired Navy officer named Kirk, described the Challenge 22 nonprofit’s work on veteran suicide prevention and promoted a free 2.2-mile walk on Nov. 15 in Winter Garden to raise awareness and recruit volunteers.
Commissioners and staff also reported on recent successful town events (Music Under the Oaks drew ~600 attendees), upcoming holidays programming and the State of the Town address scheduled Oct. 22 at 6:00 p.m.
