The Town of Oakland Commission voted to adopt Resolution 2025-11 on Oct. 14, authorizing amendments to the defined contribution retirement plan for the town’s police officers.
A presenter noted the resolution implements the budget-approved change to increase the police contribution rate from 16% to 18%. After brief opportunity for questions and public comment, a commissioner moved to adopt the resolution, the motion was seconded, and the body approved the resolution by voice vote.
The town will file the amended plan documents with the Florida League of Cities and implement the higher contribution rate as described in the resolution and budget.
