Loisel, a councilor with prior committee leadership experience, accepted the nomination and said she would work with other members to balance public input and committee efficiency. Councilor Stratton and others described the committee’s task as finding the factual basis for council action and urged structured deliberation. Several members emphasized that, because the council is largely new, having experienced members available to support newer chairs would be beneficial.
The committee briefly discussed vice‑chair duties, including serving as a backup chair, assisting with administrative tasks such as timing public comment and handling Zoom participation, and helping to prepare supplemental materials. Members agreed that chairs and vice chairs should treat subcommittee meetings as opportunities for deeper analysis and public input that differ from the formality of full council sessions.
The committee confirmed the leadership by roll call and moved on to its agenda items, including a referral on a traffic ordinance.
