Simsbury — At its Feb. 12 meeting, the Board of Education approved a personnel leave and accepted two donor gifts for the high school robotics team.
On personnel, the board voted to grant a guaranteed leave of absence for Missy Champagne, a fourth‑grade teacher at Tooting Hills School, to serve as primary caregiver for an aging parent from Aug. 24, 2026, through June 30, 2027. The board approved hiring an interim teacher for the year and holding Missy Champagne’s position for her return.
On gifts, the board accepted two $3,000 donations to the SimCity FIRST Robotics team: one from DBL Solutions and one from R and D Dynamics Corporation. Both gift motions were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
These actions were routine approvals on consent and personnel items; there were no roll‑call tallies recorded in the transcript.
