Parents press District 41 for crossing guard and enforcement at Geneva/Bloomingdale

He called for possible mitigations including a crossing guard, a 'no turn on red' sign, and protective pylons.
Adam Tate, a neighbor and parent, echoed those concerns and asked the board to advocate with the Glen Ellyn Police Department for more traffic enforcement during school hours and to work to secure a crossing guard at the Bloomingdale intersection. Tate said past contacts with police and county officials produced little change.
Board and staff responses in the meeting acknowledged the safety concerns and signaled staff would continue discussions with the police department and county transportation officials. No formal policy change or specific mitigation (such as an approved crossing‑guard assignment) was adopted at the meeting; the requests were recorded as public comment and will be part of staff follow‑up.
