Clermont County outlines America 250 banners, art shows and public art for 2026 events

BATAVIA, Ohio — Clermont County staff briefed commissioners on local plans for America 250 observances, emphasizing community art and signage across county buildings.
Ursula Miller, the county's communications coordinator, told the board the county is coordinating several projects with a larger committee organized by the Convention and Visitors Bureau. She said the county will hang prototype banners on county buildings, organize a student art show featuring 12 schools and more than 500 students, and mount township-representative senior art on display boards. "We'll fine tune that in the next couple weeks," she said.
Miller also described a county-commissioned, life-size sculpture by artist Tom Tachia that will be enlarged from a model and placed at the Grant Memorial (the historical society museum in Bethel) in mid-October, with details being finalized.
What happens next: Miller said staff will return with a further update in the spring and finalize details for a May reception associated with the student art show.
