Harford County board re-elects president, elects new vice president in divided votes

Diane Alvarez nominated Aaron Point to continue as president; a board member identified in the transcript as “This is Laura” seconded the nomination. Point accepted the nomination and delivered remarks emphasizing student-centered leadership. The board conducted a roll-call vote and the motion to re-elect Point passed. Doctor Miller registered a no vote during the roll call; the president announced the motion passed.
The vice-presidency required a longer sequence. An initial nomination produced a 5–5 split, which the presiding officer said did not meet the affirmative threshold.
