Solano County proclaims Feb. 11 "2-1-1 Day"; 2-1-1 Bay Area highlights 2025 referrals

The Solano County Board of Supervisors on Feb. 10 adopted a resolution recognizing Feb. 11, 2026, as 2-1-1 Day, and heard from Claire Marcus, senior director of 2-1-1 Bay Area, about the service's role in Solano County.
The clerk read a summary of the resolution, describing 2-1-1 as "a free confidential service available 24 7 that connects individuals and families to essential resources," and the board approved the proclamation by a 4-0 vote.
Claire Marcus said the 2-1-1 network is a critical community resource that supports residents with needs including housing, food, health care and transportation. She told the board that in 2025 "18,663 residents received 32,198 referrals" through 2-1-1 Bay Area and called the service "more than a helpline... it's a lifeline." Marcus also announced a two-month art contest to highlight the role of 2-1-1 in the Bay Area and encouraged county residents to participate.
The resolution encourages residents to learn about 2-1-1 Bay Area resources and to use the service in times of need. No budget or statutory changes were recorded during the open session.
