The San Bernardino Planning Commission unanimously approved staff recommendations to forward findings of conformity and CEQA categorical exemptions for two separate street vacations.
Real property manager Michael Yarbrough presented the first item (vacation number 1530‑443), an approximately 873‑square‑foot portion of Parley Avenue north of West Foothill. Staff told commissioners the proposal is consistent with the general plan and that utility companies were notified; no utilities reservations were requested. A motion to adopt the planning commission resolution forwarding the street vacation to the mayor and city council passed on a unanimous roll call.
Yarbrough then presented a second street vacation (15.3‑444) covering roughly 1.052 acres of Victoria Avenue north of Linwood Drive adjacent to the San Manuel Nation's resort and casino. Staff said the segment is fully maintained by the tribe, is not a through street and that the proposed vacation completes a parcelization process. After a clarifying correction to the resolution number, the commission again voted unanimously to forward the staff recommendation with a finding of CEQA categorical exemption.
Both items were treated as public hearing items; no members of the public spoke on either vacation at the hearings held that evening. The approvals will be forwarded to the City Council for final action and recordation.
