Oakland County’s Finance Committee approved supplemental funding for the adult treatment court after a presentation from court business manager Chris Bujak.
Bujak described the court as an alternative-to-incarceration program serving roughly 100–110 participants and said"this program actually saves the county millions of dollars" by avoiding incarceration costs. She said partner-funded liaison positions provided by outside health-network partners are vacant or at risk because grant funding was reduced; the court also faced higher drug-testing costs after a rebid. Meeting materials referenced a supplemental funding figure of $250,000 to cover liaison positions and rising operational costs.
Commissioners expressed strong support for the court’s work and the supplemental funding was approved on the committee vote.
