Johnson County Council tables additional appropriations to March, approves salary-ordinance changes and liaison list

The council also approved the consent agenda (items b1–b8, plus an added item b14) by a single motion. Jonathan T. Myers moved to approve the consent agenda with Ron Bates seconding; the motion passed on a roll-call vote.
Councilors then approved two salary-related ordinances. Ordinance 2026-01, amending the 2025 annual salary ordinance, passed after a motion by Pamela Burton and a second by Ron Bates. Ordinance 2026-02, amending the 2026 annual salary ordinance, passed following a motion by Ron Bates and a second by Jonathan T. Myers. Both measures passed by roll-call votes.
The council also approved the 2026 council-liaison list prepared by council assistant Amy Thompson. John Mallers moved to adopt the list and Ron Bates seconded; members noted the inclusion of phone numbers and discussed the liaison role as the first point of contact for departmental matters. The chair asked that Amy email the finalized list to county department heads and elected officials.
