The Urbana Park District Board approved proposed revisions to the district’s paid time off (PTO) and holiday policies at the Jan. 13 meeting.
Staff explained the changes are intended to simplify holiday time administration (providing certain holiday days automatically) and to clarify accrual and maximum bank provisions; the recommended maximum PTO accrual was reduced from 280 hours to 240 hours to balance staffing and benefits. Staff said the revision preserves an additional time-off benefit while managing banked hours that would otherwise reduce staff entitlements below an acceptable level.
A board member moved to adopt the policy revisions as presented; the motion was seconded and approved by the board. Staff answered procedural questions during discussion and said they will finalize policy materials and implement the revisions through normal HR processes.
