The Urbana Park District Board of Commissioners accepted the district’s 2025 annual comprehensive financial report at its Jan. 13 meeting and received an overview of the district’s year‑to‑date fiscal position.
A finance presenter told the board that total district revenues for the period were $14,288,611 and total expenditures were $10,984,911, leaving a reported surplus of $3,303,007 after eight months. The capital improvements fund showed revenues of $2,054,356 after eight months and expenditures of $381,072. The presenter attributed some of the month‑to‑month changes to interfund transfers made in preparation for annual bond payments.
The treasurer reported the district’s cash and investments as of Dec. 31, 2025, noting total investments to date of $14,991,783.40 and reviewed interest‑bearing account balances and interfund loan activity (no interfund loan activity in December).
During discussion, a board member asked for clarification on certain capital asset indicators and how program registrations contribute to those counts; staff explained those figures are calculated from program registration systems and program guides. Following discussion, a board member moved to accept the annual comprehensive financial report for the year ended April 30; the motion was seconded and approved by unanimous vote.
Staff said Sikich CPA LLC will present finalized audit highlights at a Feb. 3 study session and that the district has received an unmodified audit opinion and continued recognition from the Government Finance Officers Association.
