Fire Commission adopts amended special‑meeting rules and 2026 statement of purpose

President Paula Collins introduced the amendments to the commission’s amended rules of order and confirmed that the revised text was available on the Fire Commission website. A commissioner moved to accept the revised special‑meeting language, the motion was seconded and the commission approved the amendments by voice vote.
On the annual statement of purpose, the commission adopted a 2026 statement that encourages and supports the administration in creating, improving and maintaining physical facilities and department functions to protect the health, safety and welfare of department members. A motion to approve the statement was made, seconded and passed by voice vote.
The commission took these procedural votes without recorded dissent and adjourned the special meeting at 5:54 p.m.
