Planning commission hears town council updates and commercial‑code survey notice

At the start of its Feb. 10 meeting the Corte Madera Planning Commission heard a recap of recent Town Council business and briefings from staff.
Commissioner Dan summarized council items including a $435,000 approval (plus contingency) for Menke Park rehabilitation focused on improved ADA access, council discussion of a proposed school assessment that could unlock a $7.9 million state matching grant and enactment of a flood‑ordinance update tied to recent state bills. Dan also reported council approval of $50,000 in temporary support for the Chamber of Commerce and a transfer of $1,000,000 from the general fund to the capital fund for multiyear capital projects.
Planning staff (Amy) told commissioners the town is updating its commercial code and has an on‑going public survey to gather business and resident input; the survey was extended and will close mid‑February. Amy said the commercial‑code effort will come to the commission as a study session in March.
