The Ascension Parish Board of Adjustments voted Feb. 11 to grant a road‑frontage variance that allows the proposed three‑lot division of the Gautreaux property (PZ3845.26).
At the meeting, the applicants’ representative said the request was limited to road frontage and that each new parcel would meet minimal acreage requirements. “We do have all the requirements as far as the acreage…It's just a request for the variance on the road frontage,” the representative said.
Board members questioned why the property lacked frontage after legal work on the division; one board member noted the attorneys had missed a gap in the property lines. The representative said the planned lots each meet the parish’s 16,000‑square‑foot minimum (about 0.25 acres). No members of the public signed up to comment.
After discussion, a motion to accept the application as presented was made by Devin and seconded by Eddie; the motion passed and the variance was granted. The board did not record individual roll‑call votes in the transcript.
The approval allows Earls & Associates, representing Guy and Barbara Gautreaux, to proceed with subdivision steps that were contingent on frontage relief. The board noted that applicants must still satisfy all permitting and engineering requirements before final platting.
