Beaver County solicitors told commissioners on Feb. 11 that 21 resolutions will be on the next meeting agenda and walked through several highlighted items.
The solicitor (Speaker 6) said the packet includes routine biennial emergency response plan updates and radiological unit reviews, an opioid-settlement-funded treatment program for the jail, and contracting items involving Windmer for oversight of a hazmat building project on Route 51 and for a dam inspection at Brady's Run Park. “Number 4 is this is through the opioid money that you've heard us talk about,” the solicitor said, describing the jail-based treatment program.
Staff and commissioners also discussed community-development and capital items: Speaker 2 outlined a yearly contract with Michael Baker for GIS services, a $450,000 proposal for a camera over the CCBC Golden Dome, and an amendment to a previously awarded IBEW-related project in Vanport that brings the total to $1,000,000. A parks item would authorize online reservations with a three-year pricing agreement, and an older-adult tech training program is included to assist residents with online tools.
