Director Maloney told the committee the removal list is not extensive ("maybe 10–20 roads") and that staff will engage a land-acquisition specialist to manage consent and denial processes for parcels on the list. He said staff reviewed past removals and found roughly 44% were dropped by consent denial and noted the resident-denial threshold changed from 25% to 51%, which requires revisiting procedures.
Committee members asked about the cadence for updates and how the list will be presented to the public. Maloney said consultants are assisting; one consultant’s price was limiting, the second had not yet provided a price, and staff hoped to complete the work by June if pricing and outreach proceed on schedule. Members encouraged colleagues to check the table in the packet for district-specific entries.
The committee approved the removal list by roll call (Pugh, Livingston, Weaver, Aline, Maki recorded yes votes). Maloney said the list will be maintained and updated as staff completes land-owner outreach and as consultants provide estimates.
Staff said more details and expanded lists will be provided as the land-acquisition process continues; the action formalizes the start of a process to make removals transparent to residents.
