"We got granted our request. It's 4 and a half million dollar grant and 10 and a half million dollar loan," a city staff member told the council, adding that Price received an unusually large grant share (about 30 percent) compared with other applicants.
Staff said the next step is an RFP for engineering design. The city does not yet have a selected engineer; staff expect to present an RFP to the council for approval and hope to issue it by the end of the month. The project must address railroad clearance constraints, including an eight-foot required rail-depth clearance, which will change alignment and design details.
Council members asked about timing and how the RFP and project will move forward; staff said the RFP will cover design work and that the city will coordinate with the Community Impact Board (CIB) and other agencies as necessary. No vote was taken during the workshop; staff said they will return with an RFP and more design detail for council consideration.
