Page County jail project: contractors report progress, permanent power and March 6 detention frames expected

Chris Falk, site superintendent for the Samuels Group on the DuPage County jail project, told the board the construction site is progressing toward interior finishes after teams secured permanent power and completed substantial mechanical and fire-protection work.
"We do have permanent power in building," Falk said, adding crews have been installing lighting, wiring breaker panels and advancing low-voltage and plumbing rough-ins. He said sprinkler work is "pretty much done on the detention side," door frames and drywall are being installed in multiple areas, and roofing and RTU work is scheduled; rooftop units were expected to be set the following Tuesday.
Falk also said the contractor expects detention frames to arrive on March 6 so crews can begin day-room and cell-area finishes. The update noted ongoing coordination on missing truck parts and transport logistics for equipment.
JD King of Fades County Engineering provided complementary road-and-equipment updates, including blading at select locations, brush cutting, and shop work. Board members asked for follow-up on a sign-truck recall and breaker panels that remained unaccounted for.
The board did not take further formal action on the construction report during this meeting; the presentation served as an informational update.
